LAURA NIEMELÄ

Dr. Laura Niemelä is originally from Lapland and finished her vet school 2010 at University of Life Sciences in Tartu, Estonia. She worked in private equine clinic in Finland for 4 years before she started as an entrepreneur at her previous company Drivet oy. She has done some postgraduate studies for University of Liverpool and is now working towards ISELP specialization. Laura is working also for the FEI as a pony measurer and official veterinarian. She is a team vet for Finnish para-dressage team and was part of the team in Tokyo 2020 and in the Herning world championships this year. 2022 she worked also in the European youth jumping championships as a team vet for Finland and Estonia. Her main interests at work are in orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation. Neck and back problems in horses are her favorite topics at work field.
Laura is riding and competing on amateur level in jumping. She is a mother to a 7-year-old daughter and they have a small dachshund at home.
